11月26日に501st日本部隊が、南三陸さんさん商店街に出撃しました。
「サンサンと輝く太陽のように笑顔とパワーに満ちた南三陸の商店街にしたい」というコンセプトのもと、2012年2月25日に仮設商店街としてオープン。
その後、かつての町の中心地に8.3ｍほどかさ上げされた高台の造成地、国道45号線と国道398号線が交差する志津川地区に本設としてオープンした「南三陸さんさん商店街」。
501st日本部隊は2016年から、さんさん商店街を訪問し今回で8回目、今年は2回目の訪問。
最初に10月1日にオープンした隣接する「道の駅さんさん南三陸」の「南三陸311メモリアル（震災伝承施設）」を訪問。
まずは展望デッキから震災復興記念公園を眺め記念撮影をした後館内へ。
東日本大震災の被災状況や津波から命を守るためすべき行動を学ぶとともに、多くの人命が失われた深い悲しみと絶望の淵から立ち上がり支え合いながら生きている南三陸町の人たちの気持ちを感じる事ができました。
その後は南三陸商店街の各店舗を周りご挨拶をしたり、お店の方やお客様たちと記念撮影をして過ごしました。

Based on the concept of “We want to create a Minamisanriku shopping district filled with smiles and energy like the sun shining brightly,” it opened as a temporary shopping district on February 25, 2012.
“Minami Sanriku Sansan Shopping Street” was opened as a main facility in the Shizugawa area where National Route 45 and National Route 398 intersect, on a hilly land that was raised about 8.3m after the earthquake.
This is 501st JG’s eighth visit since our first visit in 2016. 2nd visit in 2022.
First, we visited the “Minamisanriku 311 Memorial (earthquake disaster lore facility)” of the adjacent “Michi no Eki Sansan Minamisanriku” which opened on October 1st.
First of all, after taking a commemorative photo with a view of the Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Park from the observation deck, we entered the building. We learn about the damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the actions to be taken to protect lives from the tsunami, and feel the feelings of the people of Minamisanriku, who have risen from the depths of sorrow and despair that many lives have been lost and are living while supporting each other.
Afterwards, we visited each store in the Minamisanriku shopping district and greeted each other, and spent time taking commemorative photos with the store staff and customers.
