ペリー提督の偉業を讃え、国際親善に寄与する目的で始まった伊豆下田黒船祭の第85回イベントが、5月17日から19日の3日間開催されました。
今年は下田開港170周年の節目の年。
501st日本部隊は18日と19日の2日間、下田の街を賑わしました。
1日目は5名のキャラクターでKIZUNA広場のステージに登壇。
その後はまちだな通り、池の町通りをパトロール。
ギャラクティック・アカデミーのメンバー、アツノブくんのジャワは大人気でした。
さらにその後は、いつもと趣向を変えて東側の道の駅方面まで足を伸ばし、自衛隊ブースの来場者を賑わしました。

2日目はにぎわいパレードに参加。
下田の人々の声援に手を振って応えながら街を周遊しました。
黒船祭実行委員会の中田さんから、いつも下田の人々を笑顔にしてくれてありがたいと毎年の参加に対して感謝のメッセージをいただきました。
来年も下田の人々に会えることを楽しみにしています。

The 85th Izu-Shimoda Black Ship Festival was held from May 17 to 19 to honor the achievements of Commodore Perry and to contribute to international goodwill.
This year marked the 170th anniversary of the opening of the port of Shimoda.
The 501st Japanese Garrison patrolled around the streets of Shimoda for two days on the 18th and 19th.

On the first day, five characters took the stage at KIZUNA Plaza.
After that, we patrolled two main streets. Galactic Academy member Atsunobu’s jawa became the center of attention.
And after that, in a change of pace from the usual, we went east to the direction of the Michi-no-eki(roadside station), where they crowded the visitors of the Japan Self-Defense Forces booth.

On the second day, we participated a Parade. Waving to the cheers of the people of Shimoda, we made our way around the city.
Mr. Nakata of the Kurofune Festival organizer team thanked us for our annual participation, saying that we always bring smiles to the faces of the people of Shimoda. We look forward to seeing the people of Shimoda again next year.
