かねてより親交のある米海軍横須賀基地の皆さまからのご依頼を受け、
日米親善スプリングフェスタ2023（基地開放日）に501st日本部隊として参加してまいりました。
横須賀基地の中には桜の植樹が非常に多く、丁度満開の状況で当日を迎えましたが、
朝からの生憎の雨模様と花冷えで音楽ライブなど催しの多くは中止になってしまいました。
しかしながら、艦艇見学やアメリカンフードの露店などには大変多くの方々が集まり、基地内は賑わっていました。
501st日本部隊は映画館の周辺などでご来場の方々に向けたグリーティング活動を行い、多くの方が笑顔で記念撮影などを楽しまれていました。

In response to a request from the people of Yokosuka U.S. Naval Base, with whom we have had a close friendship for a long time,
We participated in the Japan-U.S. Friendship Spring Festa 2023 (base open day) as the 501st Japanese Garrison.
There are many cherry trees planted at Yokosuka U.S. Naval Base, and they were in full bloom on the day of the festival,
However, due to the unfortunate rain and cold weather from the morning, many of the events such as live music performances were cancelled.
However, many people gathered for the naval ship tours and American food stalls, and the base was crowded with people.
The 501st Japanese Garrison conducted a meet and greet activity for visitors around the movie theater, and many people enjoyed taking commemorative photos with smiles on their faces.
