5月5日はこどもの日。端午の節句の日です。本来は男の子の健やかな成長や幸せを祈って、兜や五月人形を飾り、鯉のぼりをあげ、ちまきや柏餅を食べてお祝いをする日です。
今では子どもたち皆んなが元気に育ち、大きくなったことをお祝いする日です。

May 5th is Japan’s “Children’s Day”. It’s “Tango no Sekku”, one of the five annual ceremonies in the luna calendar.
Traditionally, it is the day to celebrate boy’s healthy growth and happiness by decorating samurai (warrior) helmet and samurai dolls in armour, raising carp streamers, and eating chimaki and kashiwa mochi.
Now the day is to celebrate that all the children have grown up.
