第501軍団日本部隊（501st Legion Japanese Garrison）は、「スター・ウォーズ」シリーズの世界に登場する悪役、モラルに欠けるキャラクター、善悪の派閥に属さないキャラクターを表現したコスチュームの制作と着用を通じて、スター・ウォーズを賞賛する国際コスチューム組織「The 501st Legion（第501軍団）」の日本支部です。コスチューミング活動を通じて、病院や施設などの慰問ボランティア、基金活動、国内外ファンや国内・海外メンバーとの積極的なコミュニケーション、地域貢献活動を行っています。

10月19日、沖縄米軍嘉エクスチェンジでは、復員軍人の日の週末の3日間に、地元の軍事家族向けの楽しいイベントを計画。
501stは写真エリアに参加するよう招待されました。
そこでは、スター・ウォーズのファンが老いも若きも、帝国軍士官と2人のストームトルーパーと一緒に写真を撮ることを楽しんでいました。
私たちは、長い白ひげの赤と白の服を着た反乱軍スパイに遭遇しました。
最初は、彼は隠れているジェダイかもしれないと疑っていましたが、彼はあまりにも陽気で、子供たちは彼を見たとき本当に幸せそうだったので、彼を釈放しました。

The Kadena Exchange had a series of fun events planned for local military families during the 3-day Veteran’s Day weekend. The 501st was invited to participate with a photo area where a steady flow Star Wars fans both young and old enjoyed taking photos with our Imperial Officer and two stormtroopers. Lots smiles and fun for all generations! Our trooper encountered a possible rebel spy dressed in red and white with a long white beard. At first we suspected he might be a Jedi in hiding, however he was overly jolly and the children really seemed to be happy when they saw him so we let him go.
