Who We Are

第501軍団日本部隊（501st Legion Japanese Garrison）は、「スター・ウォーズ」シリーズの世界に登場する悪役、モラルに欠けるキャラクター、善悪の派閥に属さないキャラクターを表現したコスチュームの制作と着用を通じて、スター・ウォーズを賞賛する国際コスチューム組織「The 501st Legion（第501軍団）」の日本支部です。コスチューミング活動を通じて、病院や施設などの慰問ボランティア、基金活動、国内外ファンや国内・海外メンバーとの積極的なコミュニケーション、地域貢献活動を行っています。

2017年11月4日、沖縄県米軍嘉手納基地内で開催された、第18回Kadena Special Olympicsに501st（ファイブ・オー・ファースト）日本部隊が出撃しました。
Special Olympics(スペシャルオリンピックス)は、知的ハンディキャップを持つ子供や大人のための、スポーツイベントを開催する世界的な組織です。

今回の嘉手納での大会には、約1,000人の選手と数千人のボランティアが参加しました。

ベイダー卿率いる帝国軍は、選手達が乗るバスを出迎え、選手たちの応援を行いました。
また、帝国軍以外にも、ディズニー・プリンセス、騎士、スーパーマン、スパイダーマンなど、多くのキャラクターも登場。
選手の皆さんは、我々の登場に第興奮！
オープニングセレモニーの後、帝国軍はさまざまな競技に出向に、選手たちやゲストと写真を撮り、共に応援を行い、表彰式ではメダルを勝者に授与しました。
悪い奴らが良い事をする、良い一日でした！

The 501st Japanese Garrison was invited to serve as costumed support for the 18th Kadena Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is a worldwide organization that hosts annual sports events for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. http://www.son.or.jp/ Nearly 1,000 athletes and a couple thousand volunteers attended the event.

Vader’s Legion started the day greeting the busses, cheering for the athletes as they arrived. We were joined by many other costumed favorites including several Disney Princes, knights, Superman, and even Spider-Man. Many of the athletes were thrilled to see us when they arrived! After the opening ceremony we wandered around to different events, stopping to take many photos with guests, cheered the athletes on as they competed, and presented medals to the winners. It was a good day to serve the Empire!
