9月23日、沖縄嘉手納空軍基地で開催された、「ケッセルラン ハーフマラソン」の応援に501st日本部隊が出撃。
ハーフマラソン開始前のスタートラインには、各自思い思いのスター・ウォーズをテーマにした格好をしたランナーが並びました。
200人以上のランナーが集まり、19:30のスタートを待ちました。
闇夜を照らす赤いライトセイバーは、ランナーと家族達も照らし出し、ベイダー卿、ダース・レイブン、ボバ・フェット、トルーパーと共に写真を撮りました。
噂によると、ランナーはケッセルランを12パーセクで完走したそうです！
The 18th Security Forces Squadron hosted a Kessel Run Half Marathon on Kadena AFB, Okinawa Japan. 501st forces appeared at starting line of the half marathon before the race to show our support for the many Star Wars themed runners.
Over 200 runners gathered to wait for the 1930 start time. Lightsabers and glow sticks illuminated the darkness as many of the runners and their families posed for photos with Lord Vader, Lord Revan, Kylo Ren, Boba Fett, and two troopers.
The Force was strong with this group! Rumors say that the runners were able to complete the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs!
